HMS Prince was built by Pitt Phineas, son of the builder Royal Souvering in 1670. The sailing ship was armed with 100 guns and manned by a crew of over 780 men. The ship was dismantled after 1692 and some of the timber was used to build the Royal William. The model is also designed as a Royal Souvering with the deck in one piece and the superstructure heads with forward spiral staircases glued to it. It has well crafted, sharply moulded details. The model includes, in addition to the beautiful sail kit mouldings, "rubber" mouldings of the thread-thin ladders, printed flags and instructions.
