This magnificent ship was built in 1626 by Cardinal Richelieu by Dutch shipbuilders as the first of five other ships. She was armed with 60 guns. She took part in several victorious battles. She found the end of her fate at the Battle of La Hougue, where she fought in a fleet with other famous ships. Here, like the Soleil Royal, Tonnant, Bourbon, she was burned after a raid by incendiary ships sent by the English.
The model is nicely done. Compared to the Heller model the decoration on the sides is not as fine, but that may be a measure. On the other hand, the hull is in one piece and will certainly fold better. The kit includes plastic sails, flag prints, thread-thin plastic ladders and a plan, in addition to the ship parts themselves.
