The Goto Predestinacia, translated as "Divine Providence", was Russia's first warship of the line.
Beginning construction on November 19, 1698 based on drawings by Peter the Great himself based on English ships and added interesting innovations. He modified her for sailing in the shallow Azov Sea, and she had good sailing qualities.
The keel construction was especially modified to prevent damage to the ship in case of hitting the bottom. The keel was made of two beams joined together. This allowed the lower part of the keel to be torn off and the rest of the ship's structure was not damaged. Something similar did not occur with other builders until 150 years later. Although Peter the Great wanted to invite experienced foreign shipbuilders, in the end the Russians built the ship themselves. It was launched on 27 April 1700.
