CNC Liftblocks 8mm - Walnut
Code: WAB-LB/8Product detailed description
The lift block was used for suspending and guiding the lift rope that led to the end of the main or topsail yard. Alternatively, it was used for tensioning the side shrouds on old ships like the Cog, Carrack, Galley, Galleass, and similar types.
This type of block was used approximately until the end of the 17th century.
The block was significantly longer with holes on both sides perpendicular to the axis of the block. Through these holes, the block hinge was attached on one side, and the corresponding lift rope or stay on the other side.

Table of block size and corresponding rope diameter
The information about the ropes used is based on the size of the inner pulley. The diameter of the Strop rope was approximately 1.3 times the diameter of the rope in the pulley.
