Code: 3BB5064Product detailed description
Description: The 280-foot-long Cutty Sark, with a displacement of 963 tons, was one of the last tea clippers - fast sailing ships that brokered trade with the Far East and Australia. The ship was built by a shipyard in Dumbarton, Scotland, launched on 23 November 1869. It is the only clipper to survive to the present day - you can now admire it in London, in a dry dock on the banks of the Thames, near the hill on which the Greenwich Observatory stands. .
Cutty Sark first served tea from China until 1877, then imported wool from Australia. After 1895, he sailed under the Portuguese flag for another 20 years. He is a representative of the top mastery of classical shipbuilding, a witness to the time when noble wooden sailboats met at sea, as well as breathless and disgusting steamships: sails from the seas almost completely. Cutty Sark is designed for advanced shipbuilders; is designed as a non-floating desktop mockup.
Cutty Sark has a hull of classic wooden construction from laser-cut parts with a plank plating and a wooden deck. The kit contains all the wooden, plastic and metal parts needed to complete the model, mock-up accessories, etc.
