Capricorne 1:150
Code: 056M/1 056M/2 Choose variantProduct detailed description
Capricorne is a classic brig of the first half of the 19th century. This type of ship was widely used in Central America, Africa and India. It served mainly as a fast merchant ship, but also for transporting slaves, used by pirates and customs guards. If the ship was armed, it was only with light cannons. The hull was very simple, but of solid and slender construction and the rigging was easy to handle.
The normal dimensions of this type of ship were:
55 m overall length, 41 m hull length, 32 m length at waterline, 9 m beam, 4.5 m draft and hl. 37 m.
The model itself is on the whole a simple, well made model of standard Heller quality. Again, it is a pity that there is no better rigging plan. However, this is easily obtainable. And good quality rigging will enhance the beautiful model even more.
