Independence War Schooner 1:79
Code: 134M/1 134M/2 Choose variantProduct detailed description
Again, a very rarely sold model presents typical schooners built in the first half of the 19th century. In the famous Webb and Elen shipyards. These technically superb schooners were built by the American government to enforce its customs policy off the coast. With extremely sloping masts, and the addition of boom sails at the top of the foremast, these ships were superbly maneuverable even with a small crew. These war schooners were very light ships with a hull length of 22 m, a head of 6 m and a displacement of 112 tons. The armament was only light so as not to weigh down the ship. It consisted of two 9-pounder and four 6-pounder guns. There were more missiles than guns, which could easily be moved around the deck as the situation demanded.
The kit is very similar to the Corsair - Armed shooner, it is also the same type of ship. It is very simple, unlike the Lindberg models this kit has the sails made separately, classically moulded from foil. The masts and booms are separate. Again, there is a lot of room to enhance the model with deck accessories and a complete rigging with canvas sails and pulleys in the rigging.
