Nordlandsbaaden 1:20
Code: 3BB0416Product detailed description
Description: Nordlandsbaaden (correctly Norwegian Nordlandsbåden) is a typical representative of fishing boats, which were built in large in the 17th and 18th centuries in Norway. At first glance, he does not deny his origins in Viking ships. Like them, he had excellent nautical qualities and was able to safely transport the crew to the rugged North, Norwegian or Barents Sea, resist storms and return safely to their home fjord. Ships of this type were used long after the end of their greatest glory - the last nail in the coffin for them was the arrival of motor boats at the beginning of the 20th century.
But Norwegians do not forget their traditions, and boats in this style are still being built - today they are sports boats that take part in regattas along the entire long coast of Norway - from the Oslofjord in the south to the Northern Cape beyond the Arctic Circle.
Nordlandsbaaden has a fuselage of classic wooden construction made of laser-cut parts with a plank plating and a canopy at the stern. The kit contains all the wooden, plastic and metal parts needed to complete the model, mock-up accessories, tarpaulin, etc.
