Draft scales 1:100 - white
Code: DS01Product detailed description
The draft scales showed the depth of the ship's draft. For example, if the water level is at the XX mark, the bottom of the ship is submerged to a depth of 20 feet.
In past centuries, Roman numerals were used for draft scales. The digits and space were one-half foot high. Together, the height of the numeral and the height of the space was 1 foot. This made it possible to determine a ship's draught to within half a foot. Keeping track of a ship's draught was very important when loading supplies and goods into a ship, to ensure that all the material was evenly distributed so that the ship did not, for example, list to one side or the other. Not to put too much strain on the bow or stern. However, it was also common for the ship to have a higher draft aft than forward.
HiSModel draft scales are universal for all 1:110/96 scale models. You just have to find out the correct scale range and position for each model.
