History of the ship:
Model of a very famous ship due to the mutiny of Officer Fletcher. The ship was used until 1787 to transport coal. It then came under the administration of the Royal Navy, only to end up on the cliffs of Pitcairn Island in 1789 after a mutiny. The ship was destined to go to Tahiti under the command of Capt. Bligh, who commanded the ship with a very firm hand. Here the crew, in conjunction with the local population, were to raise several hundred seedlings of breadfruit trees, which were then to be taken to Africa, I think, to be cultivated. But during the several months of preparing the seedlings, some of the crew became very close to the local women, so much so that shortly after sailing back the crew mutinied. They put the captain and his loyal men in a boat. The mutineers returned to the island. Some stayed behind, and 9 others, under the mutiny leader Fletcher, sailed away with 11 women and 6 men, eventually ending up on Pitcairn Island. Here they settled down and left the ship to wreck to cover up the traces of themselves visible from the sea. Nothing further is known about their fate Kap. Blight, after three months of miserable sailing among the islands with the man-eaters, reached the island in tz. Tubuai in the East Indies. Later, those who remained in Tahiti were captured by a punitive expedition and hanged.
A replica of the HMS Bounty, on which the movie "Mutiny on the Bounty" was filmed, sank on 29 October 2012 during Hurricane Sandy near Hatteras Island on the US East Coast.
Kit description:
For an old small scale model, the workmanship is very nice and the final model will exceed your expectations.
