This 16th century English carrack was a huge ship for its time. Overall length was about 50 m, displacement 1000 to 1500 tons. There was a high superstructure of four in the front and two battle decks in the rear. This large carrack was built by Henry VIII in response to the construction of the Scottish ship Michael in 1511. It was built at Woolwich dockyards between 1512 and 1514. It was the first warship to have guns and firepower mounted on multiple decks above each other. At first she was armed with 20 and later even 43 large new bronze guns and 141 light guns - falconets. At that time she was the largest and most powerful warship in Europe.
Over time, she underwent several modifications to increase the ship's maneuverability. She did not take part in many battles, such as the Battle of the Solent against the French in 1545, but was mainly a diplomatic weapon of Henry VIII. After the accession of Edward VI, she was given his name. The end of this huge ship is unclear. Some sources say she burned in 1553 at Woolwich, or ended up as a huge wreck on the banks of the Thames.
The kit is a great rarity as it is minimally available. The model itself is very simple, simply showing the overall construction of the ship and her armament. With the attached plan, it also shows the production of Pyro, who concentrated mainly on small simple replicas.
