Description: Forty-four-foot US Coast Guard lifeboat. The Coast Guard (USCG) comes from a series of non-tipping boats built by the USCG Yard in Curtis Bay, Maryland in the early 1960s. The ship is powered by two 180 HP diesel engines and gives it a maximum speed of up to 15 knots. The normal crew is three, the boat is equipped with radar, sonar and radio stations guaranteeing the possibility of communication up to 100 miles. The boat is designed for beginners to intermediate shipbuilders; it is primarily designed as a non-floating table model, but it is possible to convert it to a floating model with RC control with a little dexterity.
U.S. Coast Guard 44 ‘has a hull consisting of a plastic molding, a plastic deck and a wooden superstructure. The kit contains all the plastic and wooden parts needed to complete the model, mock-up accessories (eg position lights, anchor, lifebuoys, propeller, etc.).
